Xiaomi 12 Pro Review
Xiaomi is worth buying if you are ready to pay for the Xiaomi brand as in the same price we already have iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S22 which have also great brand value, so why do we pay this much to Xiaomi.
Xiaomi 12 Pro has its Pros from Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor to 120Hz 10-bit AMOLED Display but there are also some compromises in it which can be a letdown for some users. Let’s go deeper and see what Xiaomi has offered in its Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone.
Display
The Xiaomi 12 Pro features a 6.73-inches WQHD+ AMOLED LTPO 2.0 Display with a 3200 x 1440 pixels resolution, 120Hz Refresh Rate, and 480Hz Touch Sampling Rate. The display further has a 10-bit panel that produces up to 1.07 Billion colors.
It has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1500 nits Peak Brightness, HDR10+ support, and DisplayMate A+ Certification.
The device also has Widevine L1 support which means you can play FHD+ content on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix.
The device has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Protection on the front side and the back panel also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection while the frame is made out of aluminum.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro also has an In-Display fingerprint scanner which unlocks the device at a faster speed.

Now, Xiaomi did not provide any official IP rating which is not good at this price, so don’t use the phone under the water.
Overall, the smartphone has a great quality display and you will not face any problems while watching content, playing games, or even performing day-to-day tasks.
Cameras
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a triple rear camera setup with an LED flash in the rectangular module that houses a 50MP Sony IMX707 primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture that has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).
The primary camera sensor is paired with a 50MP ultrawide angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture that has a 115-degree field-of-view, and a 50MP telephoto sensor with an f/1.9 aperture.
There is a 32MP Selfie Camera Lens with f/2.45 aperture in the punch-hole design display. The rear camera can record up to 8k videos at 24fps while the rear camera can record up to 1080p videos at 60fps.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), so you will not face any issues with videos, the images come out smooth and there are no issues with dynamic range and colors.
The 50MP primary and 50MP ultrawide lenses take very good shots, even at night or in low lighting conditions. The OIS in the camera helps the device a lot in removing shakiness. The 50MP telephoto sensor also captures some very good shots.

The 32MP selfie camera is also good and takes some good selfies. However, the phone does not have an extra good camera like what we are getting on iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S22 which were launched at almost the same price.
Overall, the rear cameras of the phone are good and justify the price of the device but the front camera needs some improvement.
Performance
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor which is paired with Adreno 730 GPU. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 Storage.
The smartphone runs on Android 12-based MIUI 13 skin out of the box.
Now, we have seen the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC in the OnePlus 10 Pro, and iQOO 9 Pro and the same is used in the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 heats up in the thermal testing, however, this heating issue is not the problem of phones, it’s a chipset issue but in real life, the phone does not heat too much even while playing high-end games as it has Liquid Cooling Technology.
Further, even at this price, you will get some pre-installed apps in the device which can be uninstalled but still, Xiaomi should not have to include them as this is a premium smartphone.

Overall, the performance of the device is very good and it is capable of running every game available on the market without any kind of issues.
Battery
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 4,600 mAh Battery with 120W Wired and 50W Wireless Fast Charging Support. The device also has 10W Reverse Wireless Charging Support.
Xiaomi has also included a 120W Wired Charger inside the box which is claimed to fully charge the phone in around 24 minutes.
Overall, the battery of the device is good but Xiaomi should have provided the 5,000 mAh still, it’s good and you will get a one-day backup if you are a normal user. However, if a user is playing games then you need to charge the device twice a day.
Audio
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has quad stereo speakers which are tuned by Harman Kardon that will give you a better sound experience without any kind of issues. It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone that helps you in calling.
The phone does not have a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack as it’s a flagship smartphone. So, you will either have to use wireless earphones or a Type-C to 3.5 mm converter.
Overall, the audio quality of the phone is very good and you will not face any issues during calling too.
