Meta-owned popular Instant messaging service, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to edit messages even after sending them.

It is not the first time; back in 2017, WhatsApp was reportedly testing the feature to edit messages but the feature never made it to the stable release.

According to WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp is testing a feature which will allow users to edit the messages even after the message is sent.

From the screenshots provided, the 'Edit' option seems to pop up beside 'Info' and 'Copy' when you tap and hold the message.

The feature is currently under testing in the WhatsApp for Android version, and it will soon be available on iOS and web platforms.

The edit feature could come in handy if you accidentally sent a text message and want to correct your mistake.

Instead of deleting the message, users will be able to edit the message saving them the hassle of deleting and composing it again.

There is no word on how many times one can edit the message or if the recipient will be notified if the message is edited.
