Meta-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp will soon introduce a new Application Programming Interface (API). The feature will allow users to know about the missed calls.

The "Do not disturb API – Missed calls" feature will initially be rolled out for the Business users on the iOS platform.

As per WABetaInfo, a website that tracks the latest updates of the Meta-owned app, the feature will allow users to detect whether the do not disturb mode is enabled.

The website shared a screenshot of the new feature. This feature will also be released for all users if everything goes well.

WABetaInfo wrote, WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature that helps users understand why they missed calls: the support to detect when the do not disturb mode is enabled on WhatsApp beta for iOS.

The information regarding the missed call will not be shared with the messaging app or the person who called.

It will only be saved in the local database of the app. Since the feature is an iOS 15 API, it is required to use WhatsApp on iOS 15.

The messaging app is supporting the new API this week. The new update is planned to be released on the App Store after which the "Do not disturb API – Missed calls" feature is available to all iOS users.
