Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Launched in India: Full Specifications

Samsung has launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 at the Galaxy Unpacked event. This smartphone comes as a successor to the previously launched Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The device also carries S Pen support and becomes the first foldable smartphone to support S Pen. Samsung also claims that it has increased the durability of its flexible displays available on this model by about 80 percent over the previous foldable by redesigning the layer structure and using a new protective film.

The phone comes with an IPX8 water-resistant build that is made of Samsung’s Armor Aluminum. The display further has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the back.

This smartphone features a primary 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display with 2208×1768 pixels resolution, 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate, a 22.5:18 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 374 PPI.


The device also has a cover screen of 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display with 2268×832 pixels resolution, 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate, a 24.5:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 387 PPI.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a 5 nm-based octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 Storage.

The device features a 12MP Triple rear camera setup consists of a primary 12MP wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture that has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture with f/2.2 aperture that has 123-degree field-of-view, and a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture that has dual Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) with 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, and HDR10+ recording.

There is a 10MP cover camera lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The device also has a 4MP under-display camera lens on its folding screen with an f/1.8 aperture.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, NFC (Near Field Communication), Ultra-Wideband (UWB), and a USB Type-C port for charging. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device packs a 4400 mAh Battery with 25W wired fast charging support, 15W wireless charging support, and also support 4.5W reverse charging.


It carries a weight of 271 grams and measures 67.1 x 158.2 x 16 mm when folded and 128.1 x 158.2 x 6.4 mm (height, width, and depth respectively) when unfolded. The device runs on Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 skin out of the box.

Samsung has also added S Pen support to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and designed two new S Pen models in collaboration with Wacom. These are called the S Pen Fold Edition and the S Pen Pro.

The S Pen Fold Edition is exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and has no Bluetooth connectivity. It supports Air Command gestures and has a Pro-tip.

The S Pen Pro is compatible with all Samsung devices that have S Pen support and comes with Bluetooth connectivity. It works with Air Command as well as Air Actions and includes a USB socket for charging.

Price and Availability in India

This smartphone comes in two variants – 12GB RAM + 256GB Storage, and the high-end 12GB RAM + 512GB Storage. It comes in three color options – Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver.

The 12GB+256GB model is priced at Rs 1,49,999, and the high-end 12GB+512GB model is priced at Rs 1,57,999. The pre-booking of the device starts from 24th August and the open sale starts from 10th September.

Users can pre-reserve the Galaxy Z Fold 3 by paying Rs 2,000, and they will get a free galaxy smart tag worth Rs 2,699. However, details about Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3’s price in India and availability are yet to be revealed.
