Samsung Galaxy M53 5G Review
Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is worth buying if you are looking for a Samsung device, otherwise, it does not make any sense to spend the same money on which we are getting Snapdragon 778G Processor, and even better.
However, the Galaxy M53 5G is a good smartphone but at the price, it’s launched, you will get better value.
Now, let’s go deeper and see what Samsung has offered in its Samsung Galaxy M53 5G smartphone.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G features a 6.7-inches FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus Display with 2408 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate.
The device has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on the top while the backside and the frame of the device are made out of plastic.
Here, Samsung should have provided the Glass back but they didn’t, instead of that they went with a plastic back, so can’t expect everything as this is a Samsung smartphone.
Samsung also added Widevine L1 support which means you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, etc.

Even though the device has a Super AMOLED Plus display, it still does not have an In-Display Fingerprint Scanner instead of that the phone has a Side-mounted Fingerprint Scanner to unlock the device.
Overall, the device has a good quality display and you will not face any kind of issues.
Cameras
The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G features a quad rear camera setup in the square module that houses a 108MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
There is a 32MP Selfie Camera Lens with an f/2.2 aperture in the punch-hole design display. Both the rear and front cameras can record up to 4k videos at 30fps.
The device does not have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), so it relies on EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization).
The videos come out good during the daylight but it suffers on low-lightening or night videos. Also, there is some shakiness in the 4k video recording.
The 108MP primary sensor takes some good shots with good detailing but it suffers in night photography. Samsung has also added some additional features to the stock camera app which will be helpful.
The 8MP ultrawide angle sensor has also good and captures some good ultrawide shots but it also suffers at the night.
Also, forget those 2MP+2MP sensors as they are added just for numbers and have no use in real life.

The 32MP Selfie Camera also takes some good shots with good detailing, so can’t complain about it.
Overall, the cameras of the device are good and are not the best. Even its predecessor Galaxy M52 5G has better cameras than the latest ones. So yes, Samsung has done compromises on the cameras.
Performance
The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 900 Processor which is coupled with Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 Storage.
The device runs on Android 12-based OneUI 4.1 skin out of the box which is a good thing.
The Galaxy M53 5G also has Virtual RAM or RAM Plus feature. However, the RAM Plus availability is a gimmick and used only for marketing purposes and has no use in real-life, so forget about that.
Now, most smartphones at this price come with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC or Snapdragon 778G SoC (even its predecessor has Snapdragon 778G), but this time Samsung has added Mediatek Dimensity 900 Processor which is not good.
The Dimensity 900 is a good processor and it will give good performance but at this price, the phone should have a better chipset rather than good SoC.

Overall, the phone has a decent processor, so if you are buying Galaxy M53 5G for gaming then don’t, as it’s a not powerful processor.
Battery
The Galaxy M53 5G packs a 5,000 mAh Battery with 25W Fast Charging Support. Although Samsung has not included any charger inside the box of the device, so you will have to buy it separately.
If you have the device at 120Hz then you will have to charge the device two times a day but if you are a normal user and use it at 60Hz then it will last for a day.
Overall, the battery of the device is good but keep in mind that you have to buy the charger separately.
Audio
The Galaxy M53 5G has a secondary noise cancellation microphone but it does not have dual stereo speakers, instead, it has a single speaker which is loud enough but still at this price single speaker is not acceptable.
The device does have a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack to plug your wired earphones or headphones.
Overall, the audio quality of the phone is good and is not the best considering the price.
