Samsung is all set to launch the successor of Galaxy M21 in India, namely Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 Edition (or Prime Edition). For the unaware, Galaxy M21 was launched in March 2020 in India.
The device is already listed on the Google Play Supported devices list with the model number SM-M215G, and it is also listed on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification website. Previously, the support page for the same also goes live on the Samsung website that also hints at the imminent launch of the device.
According to the leakster Ishan Agarwal, the Galaxy M21 2021 Edition will be exactly the same as the Galaxy M21 in terms of hardware. However, the 2021 Edition will come with the Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 skin out of the box.

For the unaware, the Galaxy M21 was launched in India with the Android 10 Operating System and received the Android 11 update this year. So basically, the 2021 Edition will come with the Android 11 Operating System out of the box. The only difference between both smartphones will be their names.
This smartphone features a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U Display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 Aspect ratio, 60Hz Refresh Rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection on the top of the display.
The device is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9611 Processor coupled with Arm Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It comes with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD slot for storage expansion with up to 512GB.
This smartphone features a 48MP triple rear camera setup with an LED Flash. The cameras consist of a 48MP primary lens with f/2.0 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture that has a 123-degree field of view, and a 5MP depth lens with f/2.2 aperture. There is a 20MP Selfie camera lens in the water-drop style notch with an f/2.2 aperture.

The handset packs a 6000 mAh Battery with 15W Fast charging support, the same as the Galaxy M21. However, the device runs on Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 skin out of the box, while Galaxy M21 runs on Android 10-based OneUI 2.0 out of the box.
Connectivity options include dual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, Glonass, Beiduo, Galileo, and USB Type C Port. There is also a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Sensors on the smartphone include Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Virtual Light Sensor.
It looks like Samsung may give its customers dated specifications with the Galaxy M21 2021 Edition while just polishing its interface a bit by offering Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 skin on the top.
The teaser poster of this smartphone is also listed on Amazon India, suggesting that the smartphone will launch in India very soon.
We can expect that the pricing of the smartphone will be somewhere between Rs 12,999 and Rs 15,999. The smartphone is coupled with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of Internal Storage.
We are expecting that the base variant of this smartphone will launch at the price of Rs 13,499.
