Samsung Galaxy F23 5G Review
Samsung Galaxy F23 5G has its Pros from Snapdragon 750G to 120Hz Refresh but Samsung has also done some compromises on it from TFT LCD to 8MP Selfie Camera which can be a letdown for some users.
Let’s go deeper and see what Samsung has offered in its Samsung Galaxy F23 5G smartphone.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy F23 5G features a 6.6-inches FHD+ TFT LCD Display with 2408 x 1080 pixels resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate.
The device further has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on the front while the back panel and frame of the device are made out of plastic.
Now, we have seen LCD display on Samsung smartphones but this is a Rs 17k (~USD 235) smartphone and it should have come with an AMOLED display but it didn’t, Samsung went with a TFT LCD Display even they didn’t use IPS LCD Display.
There is nothing wrong with the TFT LCD displays but this time when brands are providing AMOLED screens at this price, it looks like, the display quality of the device has been compromised.

When you are using a smartphone that has a TFT LCD Display facing yourself, the display looks decent, the colors of content also look decent but when you see it from the side or tilt the display of the device, the colors fade out a little bit.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy F23 5G has not a good quality display. So, if you want a phone with a good display (or AMOLED panel) then you can also take look at any other smartphone.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy F23 5G features a 50MP Triple Rear Camera Setup with an LED Flash in the rectangular module.
The rear cameras house a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture that has a 123-degree field-of-view, and a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
There is an 8MP Selfie Camera Lens with f/2.2 aperture in the waterdrop style notch display. Both the front and rear cameras can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps.
There is no support for OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), so it relies on EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) which works well.
The 50MP primary sensor takes some good shots, but there are some issues with dynamic range and the colors also get whiter. The videos also come out good as per the price point.
The 8MP ultrawide sensor also takes some good wide-angle shots with good detailing as per the pricing. Also, forget that 2MP macro sensor which is added just for numbers.

The 8MP selfie camera lens is not good and there is also some issue with the dynamic range. Here, Samsung should have provided a 13MP or 16MP selfie camera lens but they didn’t, instead of that they have included an 8MP Selfie Camera.
Overall, the cameras of the device are decent considering the price of the phone and not the best. So, if you are looking for a camera-centric device, you can skip the Galaxy F23 5G.
Still, if you are a fan of Samsung and wanted the best Samsung smartphone under Rs 20k (~USD 270) then only you can consider the Galaxy F23 5G otherwise, it is not a value for money device.
Performance
The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G Processor which is coupled with Adreno 619 GPU. It comes with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 Storage.
It runs on Android 12-based OneUI 4.1 skin out of the box. Samsung has also promised to provide 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
The device also has extended RAM availability. However, the Virtual RAM is a gimmick and used only for marketing purposes and has no use in real-life, so forget about that.
The smartphone is 5G supportive and has twelve 5G bands that are n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, and n78.

Overall, the performance of the device is good enough to perform any task in day-to-day life but Samsung should have provided UFS Storage but they didn’t, instead of that they have provided eMMC 5.1 which is not good.
Battery
The device packs a 5,000 mAh Battery with 25W Fast Charging Support. However, the device does not come with a charger inside the box and it’s the first non-flagship to ship without a charger.
Overall, the battery backup of the device is decent. Also, you need to buy the charger separately.
Further, if you are a heavy user then you need to charge the device two times a day, but if you are a normal user, the device will last for a day without any problem.
Audio
The device only does not have dual stereo speakers, instead of that it has a single speaker at the bottom side which is loud, but still, Samsung needs to provide a dual stereo speaker but they didn’t.
Also, the device does not have a secondary noise-cancellation microphone, so another person on the call might have a problem hearing your voice during the call.
However, the device has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack to plug your wired earphones or headphones.
Overall, the audio quality and the call quality are decent and not the best at this price point.
