Samsung Galaxy A73 5G Review
Samsung Galaxy A73 5G has its Pros from 120Hz Refresh Rate to 108MP OIS Quad Rear Camera Setup but Samsung has done some compromises which can be a letdown for some users.
No doubt Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is a good smartphone but it’s overpriced. At this price, we have better phones than Galaxy A73 5G, so it doesn’t make any sense to pay extra money for Samsung Logo. In short, if you wanted to buy only Samsung branded phone then yes, it’s worth buying.
Let’s go deeper and see what Samsung has offered in its Samsung Galaxy A73 5G smartphone.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G features a 6.7-inches FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus Display with 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz Refresh Rate.
The back and frame of the device are made out of plastic while there is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on the front side.
Here, Samsung should have provided the Glass back but they didn’t, and yes this is a Samsung smartphone, so can’t expect everything.
The Galaxy A73 5G also has Widevine L1 support which means you can play FHD+ content on OTT apps like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, etc. The device has a peak brightness of 800 nits, so you will not face any issues while using the device outdoors.

The device also has an IP67 Water Resistant Rating which protects the phone against immersion in water up to 1 meter in depth for up to 30 minutes.
There is also an In-Display fingerprint sensor. Overall, the display of the device has good and Samsung has done a great job.
Cameras
The Galaxy A73 5G features a quad rear camera setup with an LED flash in the rectangular module. The camera houses a 108MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture that has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).
The rear camera is also coupled with a 12MP ultrawide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
There is a 32MP Selfie Camera Lens with an f/2.2 aperture in the punch-hole design display. Both the cameras can record up to 4k videos at 30fps.
The rear camera has both OIS and EIS, and the videos come out stable but the 4k videos do not come out as good as the 1080p videos.

The 108MP primary sensor takes some good shots under good lighting conditions but in low lighting, it suffers a lit bit.
There are details even in the low lighting or night but still, Samsung needs to work a lit bit which can be fixed via an OTA update in the future.
The 12MP ultrawide sensor also takes some good shots but again, it suffers in low light.
Now, forget those 5MP + 5MP sensors as they are added just for number and help companies in marketing.
The 32MP Selfie Camera is good, Samsung has done a great job. But when it comes to front videos, there are some dynamic range issues, it’s a hit or miss kind of situation.
Sometimes, it takes good videos but sometimes, it feels like, a budget smartphone selfie camera.
Now, the cameras of the device are good but the problem here is its price. As for this price, it does not have the best camera.
Overall, for the price of Rs 42k, the cameras of the device are not that great, you can skip it if you want a phone only for cameras.
Performance
The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Processor coupled with Adreno 642L GPU. It runs on Android 12-based OneUI 4.1 skin out of the box.
Samsung has also promised to provide 4 OS updates and 5 years of security updates. So, here, Samsung has done a great job.
The device also has Virtual RAM or RAM Plus feature. However, the RAM Plus feature is a gimmick and used only for marketing purposes and has no use in real-life, so forget about that.

Now, we have seen a lot of phones with Snapdragon 778G chipsets and most of them are available under Rs 30k (~USD 405), and the same is used in this phone.
The chipset is powerful enough to play every single game available in the market without any issues but it does not worth considering the price.
Again, we all know, OneUI is a great OS, it has tons of features, and it is also fast, so you will not face any issues with the UI.
Overall, the performance of the device is good and it should be even better if Samsung had added an 8-Series processor.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G packs a 5,000 mAh Battery with 25W Fast Charging Support. Although, Samsung has not included any charger inside the box of the phone.
Here, when most of the phones at the same price come with 50W or 65W, or even 120W fast charging support, Samsung has only added 25W charging support. So yes, Samsung has done cost-cutting.
The battery of the phone will last for a day or less, depending on your daily usage.
Audio
The smartphone comes with Dual Stereo Speakers which provide you with good quality audio. It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone which helps you during calls.
The device does not have a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack to plug your wired earphones or headphones. So, if you wired earphones you either have to buy a Type-C to 3.5 mm dongle or wireless earphones.
Overall, the device had good sound quality and you will not face any issues while taking calls.
