Samsung has launched a new 5G smartphone under its A-Series in India, namely Samsung Galaxy A22 5G. The device features an octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 700 Processor.
The smartphone comes with triple rear cameras and has a 90Hz FHD+ TFT LCD display. It uses a waterdrop-style display notch for the front camera. There is also Dolby Atmos audio support via wired and wireless headsets. The device further supports 11 5G bands.

This smartphone features a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT LCD Infinity-V Display with 2408×1080 pixels resolution and 90Hz Refresh Rate. The display further has a pixel density of 399 PPI, an aspect ratio of 20:9, and an 82.3% Screen-to-body ratio.
The device is powered by a 7 nm-based octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 700 Processor coupled with Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 Storage. There is a dedicated MicroSD slot for storage expansion of up to 1TB.
The handset features a 48MP Triple rear camera setup with an LED Flash. The cameras consist of a 48MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture that has a 115-degree field-of-view, and a 2MP depth lens with f/2.4 aperture. There is an 8MP selfie camera lens in the water-drop style notch with an f/2.0 aperture.
The rear camera can record 2K videos at 30fps and can record slow-motion HD videos at 120fps. There is no Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) in the cameras.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. There is also a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack. However, there is no Near Field Communication (NFC) in the device. Moreover, there is also no Knox Security provided by Samsung.
Sensors on the device include Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Light Sensor, and Proximity Sensor. The smartphone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The device packs a 5000 mAh Battery with 15W Fast charging support. It carries a weight of 203 grams and measures 167.2 x 76.4 x 9.0 mm (height, width, and depth respectively). The device further runs on Android 11-based OneUI Core 3.1 skin out of the box.
Price and Availability in India
This smartphone launched in two different variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage. The 6GB+128GB model is priced at Rs 19,999; and the high-end 8GB+128GB model is priced at Rs 21,999. It comes in three color options – Gray, Green, and Violet.
The sale of this device starts from 25th July on Samsung.com, leading online stores, and will also be available on offline retail stores.
As an introductory offer, users will get a Rs 1,500 Instant discount on HDFC Bank credit and debit card transactions. There are also EMI options available via NBFC partners and various banking.
