Samsung Galaxy A03s Review
The Galaxy A03s is not worth buying because Samsung is just charging extra money just for brand value and nothing else. Overall, we suggest you skip the Galaxy A03s and take a look at other smartphones available in the market like Poco M2, Redmi 10 Prime, etc.
Just like other Samsung devices at the same price tag, the Samsung Galaxy A03s is also an overpriced phone.
Also, this could have been the best phone, if there were no other phones available but that’s not the case here, we do have many phones from Redmi 10 Prime to Micromax IN Note 1 which are available at the same price as Galaxy A03s and they seriously offer a lot better value.
The Samsung Galaxy A03s comes with a 6.5-inches HD+ PLS TFT LCD Display with 1600 x 720 pixels screen resolution, 20:9 Aspect Ratio, and 60Hz Refresh Rate.
The frame and back panel of the device are made out of plastic while there is glass protection on the front but Samsung has not disclosed which glass they used.
As the device does not have an AMOLED Display, hence it has a Side-mounted fingerprint scanner to unlock the device using fingerprints.
Here, Samsung should have included the FHD+ IPS LCD display but they didn’t, they went with an HD+ PLS TFT LCD Display which is not acceptable at this price. Overall, we can say that the display of the device is compromised.
Overall, the device does not have a good quality display considering the price of the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy A03 features a triple rear camera setup with an LED flash in the rectangular module that houses a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
There is a 5MP Selfie Camera Lens with f/2.2 aperture in the waterdrop notch style display. Both the front and rear cameras can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps.
The 13MP primary camera captures okay-type images and its dynamic range is also very limited. Just like the display, the cameras of the device are also compromised considering the price.
Also, forget those 2MP+2MP sensors as they are added just for numbers and have no use in real life, they only help companies in marketing.
Now, the 5MP selfie camera clicks photos with very limited details. Here, Samsung should have at least included a 13MP selfie camera but they didn’t, they went with 5MP only which is not acceptable at this price.
So, we can say that Samsung needs to work on the cameras and provide better cameras, especially the selfie camera at this price. Also, they need to optimize the camera to justify the pricing of the phone.
Overall, the cameras of the smartphone are not great compared to what other companies are providing at the same price point.
Under the hood, the device runs on a Mediatek Helio P35 processor which is paired with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It comes with up to 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 64GB of eMMC 5.1 Storage. There is also a dedicated SD card slot for storage expansion of up to 1TB.
The device runs on Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 Core skin out of the box. Now, considering the price of the phone, Samsung should have included a better chipset like Snapdragon 680 or Helio G85, but they didn’t.
The Helio P35 is not that powerful, the phone feels laggy and sometimes, it freezes for seconds while opening applications or performing other tasks. Overall, don’t expect the performance to be great, you will be disappointed with the performance.
Overall, just like the display and cameras of the device, we can say that the performance of the device is also compromised.
The Samsung Galaxy A03s packs a 5,000 mAh Battery with 15W Fast Charging Support. Although, Samsung has provided a 7.75W Charger inside the box of the device that is not good.
Now, where other brands are providing 30W or 33W Charging support, Samsung has gone with 15W which is not good and also they have not provided the 15W Charger in the box instead of that they went 7.75W which is again a disappointment.
Coming to the battery, you will get a good battery backup as the device only features an HD+ Display with a 60Hz Refresh Rate, so it will easily give you a one-day battery backup.
Overall, we can say that the battery of the device is good and you will not face any kind of issues but the charger will take around 3 hours and 40 minutes to fully charge the device from 0 to 100 percent.
The device does not have support for dual stereo speakers, instead of that it has a single speaker which is loud enough, but still, it’s a single speaker.
Also, the device does not have a secondary noise-cancellation microphone, so another user on the call might have a problem hearing your voice during the call.
However, it has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack which means you can plug your wired earphones or headphones without any issues.
Overall, the audio quality and the call quality are good and are not the best considering the price of the device.
