Realme GT Neo 3 Review
Realme GT Neo 3 5G is worth buying as it offers good value for money, it has superfast 150W fast charging (although it’s limited), good cameras, dual stereo speakers, and a 120Hz AMOLED display. At this price, it’s a good smartphone and not an overpriced phone.
However, Realme has done some compromises on the device to cut its cost. Let’s go deeper and see what Realme has offered in its Realme GT Neo 3 smartphone.
The Realme GT Neo 3 comes with a 6.7-inches FHD+ AMOLED Display with 2412 x 1080 pixels resolution, 120Hz Refresh Rate, and 1000Hz Touch Sampling Rate. It also has a 10-bit color depth that produces up to 1.07 Billion colors.
The device is bright enough to use outdoors, and there you will not face any kind of problems while watching videos or taking photos.
Realme has added Widevine L1 support which means you can stream FHD+ videos on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Videos, Netflix, etc.
The smartphone also has HDR10+ certification which works in almost all the OTT apps, so you will be able to watch HDR content too.
It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on the front side and the back panel also has Gorilla Glass protection but Realme has not revealed which glass they used on the back while the frame is made out of plastic.
As the device has an AMOLED Display, hence Realme has added an In-Display fingerprint scanner to unlock the device and it works well.
However, Realme did not provide any IP rating on the device which is not good at this price point, so don’t dare to use the phone under the water.
Overall, the device has a good quality display and you will not face any kind of issues.
The smartphone comes with a triple rear camera setup in the rectangular that consists of a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary lens with f/1.8 aperture that has OIS, an 8MP ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture.
The device has a 16MP Selfie Camera sensor with an f/2.45 aperture in the center-punch hole design display. The rear camera can record up to 4k videos at 60fps while the selfie camera can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps.
The videos from the rear cameras come out good with good details and there is also no issue with dynamic range too. However, it does have some shakiness while we record videos at 4k.
The 50MP primary lens captures some good shots in the good lighting conditions but it suffers and losses out details in the low light or night photography. Also, the sensors try to whiten the images, so if you love that then you will be happy with the camera.
The 8MP ultrawide angle sensor also captures some good wide-angle shots but it also suffers in low lighting or night photography and the wide-angle sensor also needs some improvements.
Now, forget that 2MP macro camera lens as it’s added just for numbers and helps brands in marketing only, and has no use in real-life.
The 16MP Selfie camera also takes some good shots but it also tries to whiten the images. So, if love saturated images, you will be happy with the camera. However, at this price point, Realme should have included a better camera as the 16MP sensor losses out details.
Overall, the cameras of the device are good and not that great, the camera could have been better even now.
Under the hood, the Realme GT Neo 3 is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 8100 Processor which is paired with Arm Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for graphics.
The device comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 Storage. It runs on Android 12-based RealmeUI 3.0 skin out of the box.
The Dimensity 8100 is a new chipset from MediaTek and it will give a close performance to Snapdragon 888 SoC but Snapdragon is far better than the Dimensity 8100 Processor. So, Realme should have provided a better chipset rather than a good Processor.
The Realme GT Neo 3 also has Virtual RAM or RAM expansion feature. However, the Virtual RAM feature is totally a gimmick and used only for marketing purposes by companies and has no use in real-life, so forget about that.
Overall, the performance of the device is good and you will not face any kind of issues in day-to-day life or even in gaming.
The Realme GT Neo 3 comes in two different battery versions If you want the 150W charging with a 4,500 mAh Battery then you will have to buy the 12GB model. However, the regular model has a 5,000 mAh Battery with 80W Charging.
Realme has claimed that the 80W charger can fully charge the 5,000 mAh Battery in around 32 minutes while the 150W charger can fully the 4,500 mAh Battery in around 17 minutes.
Overall, the battery of the device is good but you will have to charge the device twice a day if you are a heavy user.
The smartphone has dual stereo speakers which give an immersive sound experience and you will not face any kinds of issues with that. It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone too which helps a lot in calling.
However, it does not have a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack as this is a flagship smartphone. So, you will have to use the wireless earphones or buy Type-C to 3.5mm dongle to plug your wired earphones.
Overall, the audio quality of the Realme GT Neo 3 is good and you will not face any kind of issue with calling as well.
