Realme has launched the Realme 9 Pro 5G under its Realme 9 Series along with Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G. Both the devices come with a Light Shift Design that changes the color of the back panel from Light Blue to Red when exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light.
Unlike the Realme 9 Pro+, the Realme 9 Pro comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G Processor, 120 FHD+ IPS LCD Display, and a 5000 mAh Battery with 33W Fast Charging Support.
Let’s see the full features, specifications, and price of the Realme 9 Pro 5G. We have also listed the Pros and Cons of the device along with some FAQs. Read on to check all the details.
Price of Realme 9 Pro 5G
The device launched in two different variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage. It comes in three color options – Sunrise Blue, Aurora Green, and Midnight Black.
The 6GB+128GB is priced at Rs 17,999 (or USD 319) and the high-end 8GB+128GB model is priced at Rs 20,999 (or USD 349).
However, Indian pricing is an introductory price, so after a month or later, the price will increase but no one knows when the company can increase it.
We don’t know the actual price of Realme 9 Pro 5G for the Indian variant because Realme did not disclose that, and instead of that, they come up with an introductory price.
Realme 9 Pro 5G Review
Realme 9 Pro 5G has its Pros but Realme has done some compromises by providing 5G connectivity on it which can be a huge letdown for some users who are not looking just for a 5G smartphone.
Let’s go deeper and see what Realme has offered in the base model of its Realme 9 Pro Series smartphone.
Display
This smartphone features a 6.6-inches FHD+ IPS LCD Display with a screen resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels, 120Hz Refresh Rate, and 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate. The display further has a 20.1:9 aspect ratio, 400 nits Brightness, and 90.8% Screen-to-body ratio.
Further, Realme did not mention the display protection while the back and frame of the device are made out of plastic.
Now, this is a successor to the Realme 8 Pro which was launched previously and features a Super AMOLED Display, hence it should have come with an AMOLED Display but Realme went with an IPS LCD Display.
So yes, Realme has done cost-cutting in the display, they could have provided the AMOLED but they did not.

The device comes with a Light Shift Design that changes the color of the back panel from Light Blue to Red when exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light. However, the color-shifting technology is limited to the Sunrise Blue color option.
Now, Realme has added the support for Widevine L1 which means you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime Videos.
Overall, the Realme 9 Pro 5G has a good quality display and is not the best display at the price the device launched. So, if you want a phone with an AMOLED display then you can take look at any other device and not on this one.
Cameras
The Realme 9 Pro 5G features a 64MP Triple Rear Camera Setup with an LED Flash. The cameras consist of a 64MP OmniVision OV64B primary lens with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture that has a 119.9-degree field-of-view and has a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture.
There is a 16MP Sony IMX471 Selfie Camera lens in the punch-hole design display that has an f/2.05 aperture.
Both the rear and front cameras can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps (frames per second), and there is no OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) while it has EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization).
Videos on the Realme 9 Pro 5G give a good output in good lighting conditions but the camera suffers when it comes to low light or night videos.
We can’t complain about the night videos because this is a budget-segment phone and most smartphones at this price point do the same thing.
The front camera also takes good videos but sometimes, it messes out the dynamic range, and sometimes, it takes good videos, so more or less it has a decent output.

The selfie also comes out very good, likewise, the selfies have whities color ton, other than that, I feel, you will like the front-facing camera.
Coming to the 64MP primary camera sensor, Realme has done a job when it comes to the primary sensor but still, the image does not come out neutral, it boosts the colors of the photos.
The images could be good for most of the users and impress them but it will be a big disappointment for those who like the natural colors.
Apart from the primary sensor, it has an 8MP wide-angle sensor which gives you decent shots and does an average job. Also, ignore that 2MP macro sensor as it is added just for numbers only.
Performance
The Realme 9 Pro 5G features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 Processor coupled with Adreno 619 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 Storage.
There is also a Hybrid SIM Slot for storage expansion of up to 256GB. The device runs on Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 skin out of the box.
The handset also has extended RAM availability, which provides the 6GB or 8GB RAM variant with 5GB additional Virtual or extended RAM.
The 5GB extended RAM effect allows one to maximize their device’s potential and run apps faster. According to Realme, this extended RAM technology can use 5GB of internal storage to keep more apps open in memory at the same time.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G is 5G supportive and has 11 5G bands that are n1, n3, n5, n8, n20, n28, n66, n38, n40, n77, and n78.
The processor used in this device which is Snapdragon 695 is capable of handling every single game without any problem.
Overall, the device is good for playing gaming and you will not face any problems while using the phone in day-to-day life.
Battery
The Realme 9 Pro 5G packs a 5000 mAh Battery with 33W Fast Charging Support. Realme has also included a 33W Charger inside the box of the device.
The company has claimed that this charger can fully charge the device in around 59 minutes from 0 to 100 percent.
The battery of the device will last for a day for a normal user, the Snapdragon 695 is a power-efficient SoC and it will give better battery life.
However, the battery life of the device varies from user to user. If the user is playing games then he or she needs to charge the device two times a day, but if you are a normal user, the device will last for a day or even more.
Audio
When it comes to audio, the device does not have stereo speakers. Instead of that, Realme has provided a single speaker placed at the bottom.
The single speaker is loud enough to watch any content without earphones or headphones, but it does not as good as stereo speakers.
The device also has a 3.5 mm Headphone to plug in your wired earphones or headphones.
It also has two microphones which will help users a lot in calling. So, Realme has done a good job in the audio department.

Overall the audio quality of the device is good but it would have been better if the phone had stereo speakers.
