Poco M4 Pro 4G Review
Poco M4 Pro 4G has its Pros from Helio G96 Processor to 90Hz AMOLED Display but it does not have some compromises like the phone does not have 5G connectivity.
Let’s go deeper and see what Poco has offered in its Poco M4 Pro 4G smartphone.
Display
The smartphone features a 6.43-inches FHD+ AMOLED Display with 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 90Hz Refresh Rate, and 180Hz Touch Sampling Rate. The display further has a 20:9 aspect ratio and 1000 nits Peak Brightness.
The front of the device is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 while the frame and back panel of the device are made out of plastic.
The device also has Widevine L1 support which means you can play FHD+ content on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix.
The good thing about the display is that Poco has provided a 90Hz AMOLED panel that makes it the first AMOLED phone in their M-Series.

However, even after having an AMOLED display, POCO did not provide an in-display fingerprint sensor, instead of that, they went with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor to unlock the device.
Overall we can say, POCO has done a good job with display, and as of now, this is the only smartphone that has a 90Hz AMOLED display at this price point.
Performance
The Poco M4 Pro 4G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 Processor coupled with Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 Storage.
The device runs on Android 11-based MIUI 13 skin out of the box. Here, Poco needs to provide Android 12 but they did not, instead of that they have provided Android 11 out of the box.
The device also has extended RAM availability, which provides the 6GB or 8GB RAM model with 3GB additional Virtual or extended RAM. However, the Virtual RAM is a gimmick and used only for marketing purposes and has no use in real-life, so forget about that.
The Mediatek Helio G96 is a powerful processor and is capable to run any game available in the market without any issues. Further, you will also not face any issues in day-to-day life.

However, the phone does not have 5G support as it features Helio G96 which is a 4G supportive processor only, so you are stuck with a 4G network.
Overall, the performance of the device is good enough to perform any task in day-to-day life and you will not face any issues while playing games.
Camera
The Poco M4 Pro 4G features a 64MP Triple Rear Setup with an LED in the rectangular module. The cameras consist of a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture that has a 118-degree field-of-view, and a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
There is a 16MP Selfie Camera lens with an f/2.45 aperture in the punch-hole design display. Both the front and rear cameras can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps.
The primary camera takes good shots in daylight conditions but it suffers when it comes to night photography as it misses details. However, it can be fixed via update in the future but who knows when Poco will fix it.
Further, the 8MP ultrawide angle lens also captures good images with detailing but it also suffers in night lighting conditions. Also, ignore that 2MP sensor because it is added just for numbers and has no use in the real life.

Now, the 16MP selfie camera takes good images but it boosts the colors of the pictures, so if you like the natural colors, you will get disappointed with the images.
Overall, the cameras of the device are good and not great as they need to work in the camera department. However, it can be fixed via OTA updates but who knows when they will fix it.
Battery
The device packs a 5,000 mAh Battery with 33W Fast Charging Support. Poco has also provided a 33W Charger inside the box of the device.
Poco has claimed that the 33W charger can fully charge the device from 0 to 100% in around 61 minutes.
Overall, the battery backup of the device is decent. However, the battery life of the device varies from user to user. If you are a heavy user then you need to charge the device two times a day, but if you are a normal user, the device will last for a day without any problem.
Audio
The smartphone has dual stereo speakers which give a better sound experience and also has a dual noise cancellation microphone that helps you during the calls.
The Poco M4 Pro 4G also has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack to plug your wired earphones or headphones.
Overall, the sound quality of the device is good and you will not face any issues with the audio.
