OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G Review
No, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is not worth buying because it’s an overpriced smartphone. For the unaware, it’s a rebranded version of Realme 9 Pro 5G and OnePlus just is charging extra money for the same device, so, if you are impressed with this device then save your money and go with Realme 9 Pro 5G.
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has its Pros but Realme has done some compromises by providing 5G connectivity on it which can be a huge letdown for some users who are not looking just for a 5G smartphone.
Let’s go deeper and see what OnePlus has offered in the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G smartphone.
Display
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G features a 6.59-inches FHD+ IPS LCD Display with 2412 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate.
Further, OnePlus did not mention which glass they used on the front while the back panel and frame of the device are made out of plastic.
Here, OnePlus should have included an AMOLED Panel but they didn’t, instead of that they went with an IPS LCD Display which is not acceptable at this price.
There is nothing wrong with the LCD panel but this time, it looks like, the display quality has been compromised.
The phone also has Widevine L1 support which means you will be able to stream FHD+ content on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix.
The IPS LCD panel is good but outdoors, the display is not that bright enough.

Overall, the device has a good quality display and is not the best display considering the price of the phone. If you want an AMOLED display then you can also take look at other phones available on the market.
Cameras
The device features a triple rear camera setup with an LED flash in the rectangular module that houses a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
There is a 16MP Selfie Camera Lens with f/2.0 aperture in the punch-hole design display. Both the front and rear cameras can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps.
The Videos come out well in good lighting conditions but the device suffers in low lighting or night videos.
Now, as this is a rebranded version of Realme 9 Pro, OnePlus has removed the 8MP ultrawide angle sensor which is not good.
The 64MP primary sensor captures good images with good detailing, but still, the image does not come out neutral, the device boosts the colors of the photos. In the low lighting or night, the primary sensor suffers a little bit and losses details.
Also, forget those 2MP+2MP sensors as they are added just for numbers and have no use in the real life.

The 16MP selfie camera also captures good images, likewise, the selfies have whities color ton, other than that, I feel, you will like the front-facing camera.
Overall, the device has average cameras and one should not buy this smartphone for cameras.
Performance
Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 Processor which is paired with Adreno 619 GPU.
It comes with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 Storage. There is also a hybrid SIM slot for storage expansion of up to 1TB.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G runs on Android 12-based OxygenOS 12.1 skin out of the box. OnePlus has promised to provide 2 OS updates and 3 years of security updates.
The smartphone is 5G supportive and has 5 5G bands which include n1, n28A, n41, n77, and n78.

Overall, the device is good for playing gaming and you will not face any problems while using the phone in day-to-day life. However, the performance is not good considering the price of the device.
Battery
The smartphone packs a 5,000 mAh Battery with 33W Fast Charging Support. OnePlus has also provided a 33W SuperVOOC Charger in the box.
The battery of the device will last for a day if you are a normal user as the Snapdragon 695 is a power-efficient SoC and it will give better battery life but if you are a heavy user then you need to charge the device two times in a day.
Overall, the battery of the device is good but the charging is not that great as other brands are providing 60W or 65W charging support at this price.
Audio
The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G does not have stereo speakers. Instead, OnePlus has provided a single speaker which is loud but still at this price, OnePlus should have included dual speakers.
The smartphone has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack which means you can plug your wired earphones. It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone.
Overall, the audio is okay and not that great, and you will not face any issues during the calls.
