The 6GB+128GB model is priced at Rs 23,999, and the 8GB+128GB model is priced at Rs 24,999 or 299 Pounds (quid) or 349 Euro.
OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G Review
OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is an average smartphone with a lot of compromises on the device which can be a huge letdown for some users. It does not make any sense to buy an average smartphone with the same ColorOS, yes, the OnePlus phones now come with Color OS.
Both the OnePlus Nord CE 2 and the Oppo Reno 7 5G are the same smartphones with different RAM and Storage options.
Let’s go deeper and see what OnePlus (oh, I mean Oppo) has offered in the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G.
Display
This smartphone features a 6.43-inches FHD+ AMOLED Display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 90Hz Refresh Rate, and 180Hz Touch Sampling Rate.
The display further has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 800 nits Peak Brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection on the top while the back panel and frame of the device are made out of plastic.
Now, we have smartphones with 120Hz AMOLED Display at this price point but OnePlus has decided to include a 90Hz panel. This could be a downside for some users. So yes, OnePlus has done cost-cutting in the display, they could have provided the 120Hz but they did not.

Further, the chin on the front side is too big while its predecessor OnePlus Nord CE 5G had a smaller chin but this successor of it does not have the same.
The OnePlus has also added the support for Widevine L1 which means, you will be able to stream FHD+ content on OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime Videos.
The smartphone has HDR10+ support but still, it’s not showing on Netflix. This can be a bug and it can be fixed with an OTA update but who knows when OnePlus will fix it via an update.
Overall, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G has a good quality display but it could have been better at this price point.
Cameras
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G features a 64MP Triple Rear Camera Setup with an LED Flash in the rectangular module. The cameras consist of a 64MP primary lens with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture that has a 119-degree field-of-view, and a 2MP macro lens f/2.4 aperture.
There is a 16MP Sony IMX471 Selfie Camera lens with f/2.4 aperture in the punch-hole design display. The rear camera can record up to 4k videos at 30fps while the front camera can record up to 1080p videos at 60fps.
The smartphone does not have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) while it has EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization).
Cameras are a weak part of this smartphone, so my suggestion is that if you are looking for a camera-centric phone, this is not for you.

You know what, the primary sensor used in this phone is not Sony or Samsung, it’s a 64MP OmniVision lens that will give you average photos.
It also has an 8MP ultrawide lens which is kind of okay but it also misses in the details and also the colors of the overall photo are not great. It also has a 2MP macro lens which is just for numbers and useless.
The 16MP selfie camera is good to take some good selfies but you will not get the natural colors, the phone tries to whiten the images as always. So, the images could be good for most of the users and impress them but it will be a big disappointment for those who like the natural colors.
The video quality of the phone does come out well but sometimes, the dynamic range gets messed up. So, I feel OnePlus needs to work on camera, it doesn’t justify at what price it comes.
Processor
The device is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Dimensity 900 Processor coupled with Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 Storage. There is also a dedicated microSD card for storage expansion.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G runs on Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 skin out of the box. OnePlus did not provide the Android 12 OS out of the box when other brands are providing Android 12 skin out of the box.
However, the device will get the Android 12 update in the future but no one knows when OnePlus will provide the update.
For those unaware, the smartphone is running on ColorOS but OnePlus is calling it OxygenOS, just like what Realme is calling their OS, RealmeUI.

Coming to the processor, there are smartphones in the market at the same price range that have Snapdragon 778G or even Mediatek Dimensity 1200 Processor but OnePlus has provided Dimensity 900 which is not a good thing.
However, MediaTek Dimensity 900 is a good processor and is capable of running every single game available in the market without any issue but still at this price point the phone should have a better chipset rather than a good Processor.
The device is 5G supportive and has eight 5G bands that are n1, n3, n5, n8, n40, n41, n77, and n78.
Battery
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G packs a 4,500 mAh Battery with 65W Fast Charging Support. OnePlus has also included a 65W Charger inside the box of the device.
The 65W charger can fully charge the device from 0 to 100 percent in approximately 31 minutes. The battery of the device will last for a day for a normal user.
However, the battery life of the device varies from user to user. If you are a heavy user then you need to charge the device two times a day, but if you are a normal user, the device will last for a day.
Audio
The device does not have stereo speakers, instead of that, OnePlus has provided a single speaker on the bottom side without any stereo support.
The single speaker is loud enough to watch any content without earphones or headphones, but still at this price OnePlus should have provided stereo speakers.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G also has a 3.5 mm Headphone to plug in your wired earphones or headphones. It also has two microphones which will help users a lot in calling.
