JioPhone Next has finally been launched in India. The device will be available from Diwali and the pricing details of the handset are revealed. The device has been developed in partnership with Google and Jio and it comes with Pragati OS.

The Pragati OS is based on Android that is specifically for Indian users. JioPhone Next is priced at Rs 6,499 in India. However, users can purchase the device with the Easy EMI option where users will have to pay Rs 1,999 initially (plus Rs 501 processing fees), and then pay the amount in different easy EMI options.

The JioPhone Next comes in at an initial down payment of Rs 2,500 (including processing fees) and the rest of the amount has to be paid in installments across periods of either 18 months or 24 months.

How to Buy JioPhone Next

Jio and Google have confirmed that the new JioPhone Next can be purchased from Diwali, i.e., from 4th November in India. Users can purchase the device from the available method.

  • Visit the nearest JioMart digital retailer
  • Go to the official Jio website and register.
  • Users can also done the registration via WhatsApp. Send a ‘Hi’ to 70182-70182 to begin the registration process.

A confirmation will be sent to the buyer after the registration is complete. The customer will need to visit the nearby JioMart retailer to collect their JioPhone Next device.

Reliance Jio says that it has partnered with more than 30,000 retail outlets across India to ensure easy access to the JioPhone Next. The company has also made available paperless digital financing options, extending to the remotest corners of the country, making it geographically accessible to every Indian user.

JioPhone Next comes with Google Voice Assistant support that will help users to operate the smartphone by responding to commands such as ‘Open Apps’, ‘Browse the Internet’, ‘Manage Settings’, and many more.


There is also a Read Aloud feature that will speak whatever is on the screen. This allows users to consume content by listening in the preferred language that they can understand.

The device also integrates a Translate functionality that allows users to have any text translated to the language of the user’s choice. So, users can easily read anything in any language.

The company also reveals that the JioPhone Next is completely “Made in India”. The phone is assembled in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with Neolync, an electronics production company.


The device features a 5.45-inch HD+ Display with a screen resolution of 1440×720 pixels, 60Hz Refresh Rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection on the top with an anti-fingerprint coating.

The handset has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 Processor clocked up to 1.3GHz which is paired with Adreno 308 GPU. The device comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of Internal Storage which is expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card.

JioPhone Next has a 13MP rear camera lens with an LED Flash. There is an 8MP selfie camera lens. Both the rear and front camera supports 1080P video recording at 30fps. The rear camera feature includes HDR Mode, Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Photo, Video, Translate, and Timer settings.
