iQOO 9 SE 5G Review
iQOO 9 SE 5G has its Pros but iQOO has done some compromises which can be a letdown for some users. Let’s go deeper and see what iQOO has offered in its iQOO 9 SE 5G smartphone.
Display
The iQOO 9 SE 5G features a 6.62-inches FHD+ AMOLED Display with 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 120Hz Refresh Rate, 300Hz Touch Sampling Rate. The display further has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1200 nits Peak Brightness, and HDR10+ support.
Unlike the iQOO 9 5G, the device has an 8-bit color depth that produces 16.7 Million possible colors. The brightness of the device is also good enough to use the phone outdoor without any issues.
The device also has Widevine L1 support which means you will be able to play FHD+ content on OTT apps like Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix. The iQOO 9 SE 5G also has an In-Display Fingerprint Scanner which unlocks the device instantly without any issues.

The device has Panda glass protection on the front and also has glass on the backside while the frame is made out of plastic but iQOO has not confirmed which glass protection they have used on the backside.
The display quality of the device is great, you will not face any issue on the display and iQOO has done a great job.
Cameras
The iQOO 9 SE 5G features a 48MP Triple Rear Camera Setup with an LED Flash in the rectangular module. The cameras consist of a 48MP primary lens with an f/1.79 aperture that has an OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).
The primary camera lens is paired with a 13MP ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and has a 2MP mono lens with f/2.4 aperture. There is a 16MP Selfie Camera lens in the punch-hole design display with an f/2.0 aperture.
The rear camera can record up to 4k videos at 30fps (frames per second) while the front camera can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps.
The videos do come with good details and there is no issue with dynamic range too. Also, ignore that 2MP mono lens as it’s added just for numbers.

The images come out without any issues with good dynamic range and natural colors. But sometimes, it boosts the colors which can be fixed via OTA updates but who knows when iQOO will fix it.
Now, if we consider the price then I feel, the cameras are good, but still iQOO needs to improve the camera quality a lit bit.
Overall, iQOO has done a good job in the camera department, the camera could have been better even now, iQOO can improve the camera with updates in the future.
Performance
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 Storage.
This is a powerful processor and it will provide good performance in day-to-day life tasks. The device runs on Android 12-based FuntouchOS 12 skin out of the box. iQOO has promised to provide two years of OS updates and three years of security updates.
The device also has extended RAM availability, which provides the 8GB or 12GB RAM model with 4GB additional Virtual or extended RAM. However, the Virtual RAM is a gimmick and used only for marketing purposes and has no use in real-life, so forget about that.
Now, some people don’t like the FuntouchOS as it has ads on the UI and comes with pre-installed apps which you can uninstall. However, it’s the user’s preference, so your experience might be different.

The device is 5G supportive and has eight 5G bands which include n1, n3, n5, n8, n28A, n41, n77, and n78. Overall, users will get the best performance at this price point.
Overall, the smartphone is fast enough and it will capable of running every single game available on the market without any issues.
Battery
The iQOO 9 SE 5G packs a 4,500 mAh Battery with 66W Fast Charging Support. iQOO has also provided a 66W Charger inside the box of the device.
Here, iQOO should have included at least a 5,000 mAh Battery but they didn’t, instead of that they went with 4,500 mAh.
However, the battery life of the device varies from user to user. If a user is playing games then he or she needs to charge the device twice a day, but if you are a normal user, the device will barely last for a day or less.
Audio
The smartphone has dual stereo speakers which give you a better audio quality output. It also has a dual noise cancellation microphone which helps you during the calls.
However, the iQOO 9 SE 5G does not have a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack to plug in your wired earphones or headphones.
Overall, the sound quality of the device is good and there are no issues with call quality too.
