Before Joining the Meeting
You can blur the background before joining a video meeting. Here’s how you can do it.
- Open Zoom client on the desktop.
- Click on the Settings icon on the top-right side.
- Tap on Background & Filters from the left sidebar.
- Here, you will see Virtual Backgrounds and Video Filters.
- Under Virtual Backgrounds, click on Blur.
Done, you have successfully blurred the background in your video meeting. Close the Settings and join a meeting and the setting will be applied.
During an Ongoing Meeting
If you have already joined a meeting and want to blur the background. Here’s how you can blur the background in an ongoing meeting.
- In the meeting, click on the up-facing arrow next to the Stop Video option.
- Select Choose Virtual Background… from the given options.
- Now, tap on Blur under Virtual Backgrounds.
Done, the blur effect will be automatically applied to your video call in the meeting. You can also revert to the original background if don’t like the effect.
Add a Photo in the Background
If you don’t want to update your Zoom client or don’t want to blur the background, instead of that if you want to add a photo in the background. We have listed all the steps to replace the background with an image. Here’s how you can do it.
- Click or Capture a picture that you want to add to the background.
- Add blur effects if you want. To do so, open befunky.com/create/blur-image or pinetools.com/blur-image
- Upload the image and set the desired blur intensity on it and finally save the image.
- Now, place the image in Zoom using the virtual background option. To do so, open settings of Zoom.
- Choose Background & Filters from the left sidebar.
- Click on the plus (+) icon and select the blurred image you have clicked.
Done, you have successfully added the blurred image, it will now replace the actual background with the image.
