Asus Zenfone 9 Review
Asus Zenfone 9 5G has its Pros from Compact Size Design to Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Soc but Asus has also done some compromises which can be a letdown for some users like Plastic Back Panel and 30W Charging Support.
So, let’s go deeper and see what Asus has offered in its Asus Zenfone 9 smartphone.
Display
The phone features a 5.9-inches FHD+ AMOLED Display with 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 120Hz Refresh Rate, and 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate. It further has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1100 nits Peak Brightness and HDR10+ support.
The device has an 8-bit color depth that produces 16.7 Million possible colors. The brightness of the device is also good enough to use the phone outdoor without any problems.
Asus also has added Widevine L1 support which means users can stream FHD+ content on OTT apps like Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix.
Even the phone has AMOLED Panel but Asus has not added an In-Display Fingerprint Scanner instead they went with a Side-mounted Fingerprint Scanner. It also works as a multi-function button.

The Asus Zenfone 9 has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front while the back panel is made out of plastic and the frame is made out of aluminum.
The phone also has an IP68 rating which means the device is water and dust-resistant. The display quality of the device is great and it is a compact design phone, you will not face any issues with the display and Asus has done a great job.
Overall, the display and design of the phone are good and you will not face any issues with it.
Cameras
The smartphone has a dual rear camera setup that houses a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary lens with f/1.9 aperture that has a 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilizer and a 12MP Sony IMX363 ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture that has a 113-degree field of view.
There is a 12MP Sony IMX663 Selfie Camera Lens with f/2.45 aperture in the punch-hole design display. The rear camera can record up to 8k videos at 24fps (frames per second) while the front camera can record 4k videos at 30fps.
The phone has gimbal stabilization, so you will not face any issues with videos, but when recording the videos at 8k, the phone heats up a little bit.
The 50MP primary sensor takes some good shots with a good depth of field but it smooths the pictures and also boosts the colors of the images whether it’s an indoor shot or outdoor.
The 12MP ultrawide angle sensor also captures some good shots with good wide angle detailing.

Coming to the selfie camera, the 12MP sensor captures shots but it’s not enough considering the price and Asus also needs to work on the selfie camera as does not give good shots whether it’s an outdoor shot or indoor.
Overall, Asus needs to work on cameras especially the front camera as it’s not justifying the price of the phone.
Performance
Under the hood, the phone features an octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Processor which is paired with Adreno 730 GPU. It comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 Internal Storage.
The device runs on Android 12-based ZenUI skin on the top out of the box. Asus will provide 2 OS updates and 3 years of security updates. The ZenUI gives you a stock Android-like experience.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Processor heats up in the thermal testing, however, this heating issue is not the problem of phones, it’s a chipset issue but in real life, the phone does not heat too much even while playing high-end games.

Overall, the Asus Zenfone 9 will give you the best possible performance to run every single game available on the market.
Battery
The Asus Zenfone 9 comes with a 4,300 mAh Battery that has 30W Fast Charging Support. Asus has also provided a 30W Charger inside the box.
For casual users, it will last for a day but if you are a heavy user who plays a lot of games then ready to charge the device twice a day.
However, Asus should have included a bigger battery and faster-charging support but they didn’t, instead of that they only provided 30W charging support which is not enough considering the price, and the size of the battery is also small.
Audio
The Asus Zenfone 9 comes with dual stereo speakers which give you a better sound experience without any issues. The phone also has a dual noise cancellation microphone that helps you in calling.
Also, the phone has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack to plug in your wired earphones or headphones.
Overall, the audio quality of the phone is good and Asus has done a great job in the audio department, so you will not face any kind of problems.
