Asus 8Z Review
Asus 8Z 5G has its Pros but Asus has done some compromises which can be a letdown for some users and disappoint them. So, let’s go deeper and see what Asus has offered in its Asus 8Z smartphone.
Display
The Asus 8Z features a 5.92-inches FHD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED Display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 120Hz Refresh Rate, and 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate. The display further has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1100 nits Peak Brightness and HDR10+ support.
The device has an 8-bit color depth that produces 16.7 Million possible colors. The brightness of the device is also good enough to use the phone outdoor without any issues.
The smartphone also has Widevine L1 support which means users will be able to play FHD+ content on OTT apps like Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix. The Asus 8Z also has an In-Display Fingerprint Scanner which unlocks the device instantly without any issues.

The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection on the backside while the frame is made out of metal.
The Asus 8Z also has an IP68 rating which means the device is water and dust resistant. The display quality of the device is great and it is a compact design phone, you will not face any issues with the display and Asus has done a great job.
Cameras
The Asus 8Z features a 64MP Dual Rear Camera Setup with an LED Flash in the rectangular module. The cameras consist of a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture that has OIS and has a 12MP Sony IMX363 ultrawide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture that has a 112-degree field of view.
There is a 12MP Sony IMX663 Selfie Camera Lens with f/2.2 aperture in the punch-hole design display. The rear camera can record up to 8k videos at 24fps (frames per second) while the front camera can record 4k videos at 30fps.
The phone has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), so you will not face any issues with videos, but when recording the videos at 4k or 8k, the phone heats up and also drains the battery, so this is an issue, but it can be fixed via OTA update.
The 64MP primary lens takes decent shots with a good depth of field but it smooths the pictures and also boosts the colors whether it’s an indoor shot or outdoor. So, yeah, Asus needs to improve it by OTA update but who knows when they fix it. The 12MP ultrawide angle lens is really good and also takes some good shots.

There is a 12MP selfie camera which is not enough at this price point and Asus also needs to work on the selfie camera as does not give good shots whether it’s an outdoor shot or indoor.
Overall, the Asus needs to work on both front and rear cameras as they are not justifying the price of the device.
Performance
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 Storage.
Now, the Snapdragon 888 is a powerful processor and it will provide good performance in day-to-day life tasks and also capable of running every single game available in the market.
The device runs on Android 11-based ZenUI skin out of the box. Asus will provide two years of OS updates and three years of security updates. The ZenUI gives you a stock Android-like experience. Here, Asus should have provided the Android 12 out of the box, but they didn’t.

The device is 5G supportive and has twelve 5G bands which include n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n28, n38, n77, and n78.
Overall, the smartphone is fast enough and it will capable of running every single game available in the market without any issues.
Battery
The smartphone packs a 4,000 mAh Battery with 30W Fast Charging Support. Asus has also included a 30W Charger inside the box of the device.
Asus has claimed that the 30W charger can fully charge the device from 0 to 100 percent in around 80 minutes.
However, Asus should have provided a bigger battery with faster-charging support but they didn’t, instead of that they have only provided a 30W charger charging which is not enough at this price point, and the size of the battery is also small.
Audio
The device has dual stereo speakers which give you a better sound experience without any issues. The smartphone also has a dual noise cancellation microphone that helps you in calling.
The Asus 8Z also has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack to plug your wired earphones or headphones.
Overall, the audio quality of the device is good and Asus has done a great job in the audio department, so you will not face any issues.
